Electrocatalysis and Electrochemistry

Responsible: Dr. Mona Kohantorabi, FS-NL

The electrochemistry lab of DESY NanoLab is set up to support research into electrochemical systems at PETRA III,  and equipped for both beamtime preparations as well as standalone experiments.

By default, this includes the availability of ultrapure water, equipment for acid-boiling and setups for flame- and induction annealing. For the preparation and characterization of more complicated samples, there is an UHV system suitable for sputtering/annealing, LEED, MBE, etc. Furthermore, a Langmuir through (operated by CAU Kiel) is available for film growth.

The workplaces are provided with a variety of gases (Ar, H2, N2, CO2, CO)  to enable a wide range of experiments. Different electrochemical cells, including a combined RDE-SXRD setup, are available for use at the beamlines.
