Ben

Ben studied chemistry at the University of Edinburgh and graduated with an undergraduate masters in 2015. He joined the group in autumn of the same year to pursue his PhD as part of the IMPRS-UFAST program.

Ben is now a postdoctoral researcher in the astrochemistry subgroup and studies the rotational spectra of molecules and their vibrationally excited states with our W-band spectrometer. He also couples the spectrometer with an electrical discharge nozzle to study reactions between astrochemically relevant precursors.

When not in the lab, Ben can be found trying to shoot targets with a bow and arrow, trying to lift heavy things at the gym, or baking sweet treats.
