Regular Proposals

At present, regular proposal submission is closed. Due to the extended shutdown from September 2026 until spring 2027, the call for proposals in spring 2026 will be skipped.
The next call for proposals will then be opened in summer 2026.
The opening of the call will be communicated by email to all users registered in DOOR.

India@DESY

Proposals for the INDIA@DESY cooperation can be submitted during Calls for Regular Proposals as well as for the Rolling Procedure beamlines P08 | P11 | P22 | P23 | P24.

Review for the Rolling Procedure beamlines, however, will be done together with the regular call proposals, i.e. after submission deadline in March and September. The next call of proposals will be in summer 2026, i.e. rolling proposals submitted for India@DESY now will not be reviewed before autumn 2026 (for beamtime in 2027).

Rolling Proposal Submission for beamlines P08 | P11 | P22 | P23 | P24

Proposals for PETRA III beamlines P08 | P11 | P22 | P23 | P24 can exclusively be submitted under the rolling proposal procedure.

For beamtimes during the first months of 2026 we recommend submitting proposals now.

Details on Rolling Proposal Submission

LTP and BAG proposals

The call for proposals for Long-Term Projects (LTP) and Block Allocation Group (BAG) at PETRA III beamlines is currently closed.
Due to the extended shutdown from September 2026 until spring 2027, the call for proposals in spring 2026 will be skipped. The next call for LTP and BAG will be opened in early summer 2026.

Proposals for PETRA III beamlines P08 | P11 | P22 | P23 | P24 can be submitted at any time via the rolling proposal procedure

FLASH

Currently, the Call for Proposals for FLASH is open.

This call is mostly related to beamtimes for experiments at FLASH2 (beamlines FL23, FL24 and FL26). However, we expect that after successful commissioning of the seeded FLASH1 branch in 2026, followed by the first community-driven experiments, we will also be able to provide beamtime for a few regular, PRP-reviewed experiments at the FLASH1 beamlines FL12 (formerly known as BL1) with the CAMP instrument, FL14 (former PG2) and/or FL15 (former PG1) with the TRIXS instrument.

Note that with the external seeding, the parameters of the FLASH1 branch changed. At the beginning, we expect to cover wavelengths from 60-25 nm (~20-50 eV) with a few µJ pulse energy at the full FLASH repetition rate.
For more details, we will soon provide a website with the expected seeded FEL parameters available at FLASH1 where the information will be updated as commissioning progresses.

Please also note that at beamlines FL23 and FL26 we will have new laser options respectively parameters available. For FL14 and FL15, our ‘PIGLET’ laser system (https://doi.org/10.1002/lpor.202100268) will be available with the usual parameters.
It has shown its high reliability during 24/7 user operation over the last few years. However, the entirely new pp-laser system at FLASH1 that is currently under development for FL11 and FL12, will in the beginning not be available at FL12 / CAMP.

The deadline for FLASH proposal submission is
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 March 2026 until midnight local Hamburg time (UTC+1)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This call relates to beamtimes from autumn 2026 to mid 2027.

Proposal submission via the ARIA Portal
Proposals can be submitted any time, the call for proposal is continously open.

ReMade@ARI proposals

ReMade@ARI aims to boost urgently needed materials research & development activities by providing access to the vast European landscape of analytical research infrastructures (RIs) represented by the ReMade@ARI consortium. To achieve this goal, ReMade@ARI provides trans-national access to analytical research infrastructures across Europe.

For offers (including travel reimbursement), deadlines, detailed regulations please visit the ReMade@ARI website

NFFA proposals

NFFA.eu allows researchers to tackle complex nanoscience challenges that cannot be provided by any single research infrastructure alone. Combined access to resources of internationally competitive academic and research centre laboratories and Analytical Large- Scale Facilities (ALSFs) is available, with new upgrades.

For deadlines, detailed regulations, and for NFFA proposal submission please visit the NFFA website

Lasers4EU proposals

Laser4EU offers unique research opportunities to scientists and industry from all over Europe and to a limited extent also to scientists from outside Europe. Access is provided

• to world-class laser research facilities,
• to a large variety of inter-disciplinary research, including life sciences,
• free of charge. Travel and accommodation expenses will be co-funded.

Access is provided on the basis of scientific excellence of the proposal, reviewed by an external and independent Selection Panel. Priority is given to new users. A typical access project has a duration of 2 to 4 weeks. Proposals for longer visits are highly exceptional.

We particularly welcome young scientists and those who have never used lasers in their research. Lasers4EU is committed to promoting gender equality in scientific research and particularly encourages applications from women.
