The nanoprobe experiment is optimized for ptychographic methods with resolution down to 10 nm. In 2017 a new nanoprobe setup called Ptychographic Nano-Analytical Microscope (PtyNAMi) was constructed. The new sample scanner designed for maximal stability as well as the new detector system designed for minimum background signal will be completed in 2018. Already operational is an interferometric positioning system, which allows tracking the sample position relative to the optics in scanning microscopy and tomography. The interferometer system resolves vibrations and long term drifts and is crucial for high-resolution scanning x-ray microscopy in the noisy environment of a synchrotron radiation source in user operation. In cooperation with the Grunwaldt group (KIT) a series of in-situ cells are being developed. The cells will enable the study of complex and industrially relevant catalyst materials in operando at varying conditions of temperature and pressure. With these new capabilities structural changes of, e.g., core shell or oxidation catalysts can be imaged in situ with high spatial resolution in 3D.
COSMIC was funded by the BMBF project 05K19VK4 , titled "COSMIC: Aufnahme von Videos katalytischer Prozesse mit Synchrotronstrahlung - Katalytische Operando-Röntgenspektroskopie und Mikroskopie zur ortsaufgelösten Charakterisierung. Teilprojekt 1." (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie)
