Beamline layout

Beamline P01 is located in sector 1 of the PETRA III "Max-von-Laue" experimental hall. The beamline consists of five hutches.

  • The optics hutch (OH1) hosts the high heat load double crystal monochromator, a slit system, and a compound refractive lens exchanger used for beam collimation.
  • The second optics hutch (OH2) is dedicated to the RIXS instrument and experiments.
  • The first experimental hutch (EH1) hosts high-resolution monochromators, the Synchrotron Mossbauer Source, and focusing compound refractive lenses for NRS applications.
  • The second experimental hutch (EH2) contains the XRS spectrometer with focusing mirrors. This hutch also features an additional stage for NRS high-resolution monochromators and an experimental table equipped with a θ-2θ diffractometer for NRS experiments.
  • The third experimental hutch (EH3) is dedicated to advanced NRS experiments. It is equipped with focusing mirrors and several experimental tables that can host the vector-field cryomagnetic system, pump-probe laser setup, analyzer for x-ray polarization analysis experiments, and other experimental environments.
