XRS Spectrometer

Our instrument is based on a Johann type spectrometer using spherically curved crystals and a 2D Medipix3 based Lambda detector. The spectrometer consists of a vacuum-sealed movable tank on intersecting Rowland circle. The tank contains a motorized multi-crystal device employing twelve Si 220 analyzers. With 10 cm diameter Si crystals, the smallest possible spherical bending radius is slightly less than 1 m, yielding a solid angle of 5*10-4 of 4π sr. The sample position is above a Huber tower allowing adjustments of the sample position in x, y, z and rotation around 3 axis. Different cryostats provide temperature ranges within 4 - 350K.
