P09 Hard X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer

In the experiment hutch, the a high-resolution Hard X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (HAXPES) instrument (currently in use at beamline P09) will installed.

Photoelectrons with up to 10.5 keV kinetic energy can be measured in different experimental geometries by means of a SPECS Phoibos 225 HV hemispherical analyser with a delayline detector. For angle-resolved studies or high-transmission requirements, an optional wide angle lens (+- 30 degrees acceptance) can be adapted to the analyzer.

The analysis chamber is equipped with a custom made high-precision fully motorised OMICRON 5-axis manipulator with LHe cooling. The instrument is mounted on a motorised high-precision XZ-platform consisting of a monolithic granite support which is adjustable in height and can be translated transversely relative to the incoming X-ray beam with very high precision.
